1 Bligh Street
Project Overview
1 Bligh Street is a premium grade high-rise building offering 27 levels of office accommodation and features a double-skin glass facade with a naturally ventilated full-height atrium. Amenities include a cafe, childcare centre, shower facilities, bicycle racks and parking for 92 cars.
This prestigious development is desirable not only due to its location but also its light and airy working environment. Notable tenants include the Offices for the Australian Prime Minister and the Commonwealth Parliament Offices.
The low rise, levels 1-15 provide a typical floor area of 1,600sqm while levels 17-28 offer 1,630sqm with a garden rooftop terrace on level 28. There are spectacular views from all floors and each point of the oval cross-section with iconic landmarks like the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge nearby.
Another remarkable attribute to the building that would not be immediately obvious from the outside is the fact that it’s a hollow cylinder. The atrium runs through the entire building from ground to rooftop, providing ventilation and a sense of space.
This high profile office building in Sydney required an energy efficient, top quality heating solution. A few approaches were discussed, with the final recommendation taking advantage of energy savings and reduced operating costs. The result was that another of the projects we worked on was awarded 6 stars for its green credentials by the Green Building Council of Australia. As a supplier of boilers, heating equipment and associated accessories we take our obligations very seriously and strive to help our customers reach their environmental goals.
