Thermex TSIA Series Buffer Storage Tanks

Thermex TSIA Series Buffer Storage Tanks are designed for use with chillers and boilers where system water volume is insufficient relative to equipment capacity.

Undersized systems lack the buffer volume needed for stable operation, resulting in poor temperature control, erratic performance and excessive cycling of the chiller or boiler.

The Thermex TSIA Series solves this by adding buffer volume to the system, reducing the rate of return water temperature change and stabilising operation.

Every chiller has a minimum system water volume requirement specified by the manufacturer. When this requirement is met, the compressor operates within its design parameters and short cycling is avoided.

Without adequate system volume, the source temperature is reached too quickly, causing the compressor to shut down prematurely. Since most chillers compressors are limited to as few as three starts per hour, repeated short cycling accelerates wear, degrades temperature control and leads to erratic system behaviour.

Adding a Thermex buffer tank brings system volume within specification – protecting equipment, extending service life and ensuring consistent performance.
