The leisure centre serves thousands of local residents weekly through aquatic programs, fitness classes, and recreational swimming, making reliable hot water essential for member comfort and safety. The facility’s infrastructure had deteriorated to the point where breakdowns were occurring regularly, leaving swimmers and fitness users without adequate shower facilities and creating mounting frustration among members.

As a community facility operating seven days a week with early morning swim squads through to evening classes, any extended shutdown for infrastructure replacement would impact hundreds of daily users and compromise the centre’s role as a vital community health resource.
