Redefining Healthcare Through Sustainability

The new Frankston Hospital Redevelopment is redefining healthcare in Melbourne’s south-east—combining cutting-edge medical care with an all-electric, carbon-neutral future.

Backed by a $1.1 billion investment from the Victorian Government, this major redevelopment is the largest health infrastructure project ever undertaken in the region. Designed with both community health and environmental sustainability in mind, the upgraded facility will deliver expanded services in maternity, oncology, mental health, and paediatrics—alongside new operating theatres and additional bed capacity.

A Model of All-Electric Innovation

The redevelopment has been carefully planned to deliver carbon neutral power use from day one. Sustainability is central to the project’s design and construction, with an all-electric energy strategy and innovative energy-saving technologies aimed at conserving resources and reducing emissions.

Automatic Heating is proud to support this vision by supplying high-performance hot water systems powered by Revere CO₂ CHP-80Y2 heat pumps. These natural refrigerant heat pumps provide an ultra-efficient, low-emissions solution that aligns perfectly with the hospital’s carbon reduction goals.

Engineered Hot Water Solutions

Level 5 and 13 plantrooms were equipped with tailored hot water solutions. Among them, a prefabricated skid-mounted system was designed and assembled offsite for seamless integration. The system, features eight Revere CO₂ heat pumps and was craned into place, reducing on-site disruption and installation time.

Supporting Community Care, Closer to Home

Once complete, the redeveloped Frankston Hospital will provide more people with faster access to the care they need—closer to home. With modern facilities, expanded service capacity, and improved clinical support infrastructure, the hospital will significantly enhance health outcomes for families across Melbourne’s south-east.

Automatic Heating is proud to contribute to a project that reflects the future of healthcare: smart, sustainable, and community-focused.
