World Trade Centre

Project Overview

Located on the waterfront in the beautiful Docklands is one of Melbourne’s most significant commercial landmarks – The World Trade Centre or WTC Wharf as it is now known. WTC Wharf has recently been transformed into a thriving retail and commercial hub on the Yarra’s edge and now boasts an array of amenities including fine dining, cafes, on-site child care provider, as well as full bike path connectivity to the Capital City Bike trail. The Crowne Plaza Hotel is another building where we have helped improve the efficiency where the net effect was a 25% cut in hotel gas consumption and 30% cut in gas per guest night.

The centre is home to the Victoria Police Headquarters, Australian Taxation Office and other office tenants like Thales Australia and The Compass Group. Its footprint is in excess of 150 meters along the waterfront and provides over 70,000 square meters of office space and more than 750 car parking spaces. Its surroundings are also home to many conveniently placed amenities like the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, Direct Factory Outlets and Southern Cross Station. Melbourne’s Central Business District is just on the doorstep too, making the WTC centrally placed for just about everything you could need.

Automatic Heating provided the equipment for a major mechanical services upgrade, resulting in significant energy saving for the client. The heating system recommended and installed for this upgrade comprised the Modulex condensing boilers which are the highest efficiency hot water heaters in Australia, boasting 109% nett efficiency and built-in redundancy due to the multi-burner configuration.
