Condensate Neutralisers
Condensate Neutralizers are ideal for neutralizing condensate from condensing boilers operating on natural gas or propane.
The condensate is acidic and has the potential to harm the environment and the sewer system. The Condensate Neutralizer will raise the pH of the condensate to a more neutral level before it is discharged to drain. If the drain is used, in some portion of its run, solely for the purpose of condensate removal and the drain material is subject to damage from acidic condensate then the use of the Condensate Neutralizer is advisable and if applied properly and regularly maintained can avoid damage associated with a leak in your drain piping.

When condensing water heaters operate they utilise the energy that is released when the water vapour in the combustion gases is condensed to liquid. This is produced when the combustion of natural gas and oxygen forms carbon dioxide and water. The resultant condensate is acidic and can cause damage to the equipment and sewerage system, these neutralisers negate that.
Those using condensing boilers are required by law to treat any acidic liquids that are to be released into the drainage system to a less corrosive state, ideally neutral/pH of 7. At that level, the damage to the sewers and immediate equipment is avoided but at untreated lower pH’s, significant damage can occur, leaving you liable to costly repairs or compensation.
These negative effects of condensing water heaters are easily avoided by using the simple devices we supply. Acidity is neutralised by the media and forms water and harmless salts and is flushed harmlessly away. The neutralisation media is lost to the drains over time and needs to be replenished with more which we can also supply.
Flow rates of up to 155l/hour can be catered for and maintenance checks are recommended annually to ensure the effluent is at least above the minimum pH of 5. The simplest method is to measure the pH of the condensate using a suitable meter.
