Anwar Managing Director, Enman Pty LtdIn my 20 years experience working as a plumber at Fraser & Mountain (F&M) the key criteria I’ve used to select units has been based on the products reliability and ease of use. The last thing any company wants is a product that doesn’t work properly; it reflects poorly on the business. Whether it saves on energy, time or money, customers want to get value for what they pay for.
I have worked with Automatic Heating for more than two decades and I have personally installed the Meridians on more than a dozen occasions. I can honestly say that they give me great service from start to finish, which makes my job less complicated. Time is money and in this industry you can’t afford delays on jobs or have unreliable water heaters.
We recently used the Meridian modules at the University of Melbourne for their Baldwin Spencer and Botany Buildings. We installed a total of six Meridians on the roofs of both of these buildings. What took the stress out of this job was that they not only came prefabricated, which made it easier for the crane lift, but having a module that simply bolts together made for a smoother installation. For plumbers, this is crucial for when you have a short time lead where your client can’t afford to have the water heating off for a long period of time.
What I like about the Meridian is the flexibility of the type of product you can install. You can have it prefabricated or in colour coded modules that easily bolt together. Other boilers tend to be bigger and bulkier but because it is lightweight and compact in design, it can easily be transported around job sites and gives you more space to work with when installing a unit in a tight space.
On a project like the Melbourne University, energy efficiency was an important factor that had to be taken into consideration too. In fact they were the ones that who requested for the Meridians as it met their energy saving specifications. F&M worked with the Automatic Heating team on the order and the installation of the boilers.
Every time I instal a Meridian I know I’m working with a good product. I have never had any problems with them, they’re well-built and reliable, which is exactly what I need to help me meet the demands of the job.
Brad Fraser & Mountain Pty LtdTime and materials are the two most important resources for any contractor. The team at Automatic Heating help our business increase efficiency by saving on time and materials with the Meridian Condensing Hot Water Heater.
Allstaff Airconditioning is saving up to 30% on our installation times, we don’t need extra pipes, insulation or electrical connections when putting in units and the colour coding with the Meridian makes the condensing hot water heater maintenance a simple task. The added bonus is that our customers are also saving on energy and space because of the compact design. It uses up to 15% less gas than a traditional boiler.
We have used the Meridian at least two dozen times, including installing three units at the Moorabbin Police Station, two units for the Bayside City Council and another small unit at the Craigieburn Police Station.
We find it is ideal for any time you have a small load in load out space, like we had at the police stations, because you can put them on a trolley and wheel them around a building or up a flight of stairs. Traditional boilers are larger and heavier but the Meridians are compact and they fit on the same plinth as old boilers. In our experience, Meridians are also the only one to have an internal pump that comes built into the unit.
We have found other units take more time to install as they require more man hours to get the piping to work properly but the integrated primary loop is really helpful in saving precious time when we’re out on jobs. It all comes down to the internal primary heat loop design which increases energy efficiency for our clients and satisfies consultant’s requirements – making our work less complicated.
