- Modulex EXT is a range of floorstanding condensing boilers that provides an infinitely flexible solution for buildings requiring a high output heating system.
Modulex EXT Key Features:
- High turndown ratio of up to 1:54.
This provides significant energy savings, particularly for part load or low load requirements. It also stops boiler cycling and contributes to its very quiet operation. - Variable Water Flow rate.
Allows the boiler to operate at a constant 20°ΔT – maintaining the boiler at the most efficient duty point. - Small space saving footprint.
This makes it easy to install in plant rooms where floor space is at a premium. - Able to be supplied as dismantled.
When needing to achieve installation in tight plant rooms or inaccessible areas, this feature can enable much better access and often saves significant costs involved in placing equipment via a crane from outside the building. - Multi burner construction.
If one burner requires maintenance, the other burners can continue to operate, providing built-in redundancy.
Quietest Gas Water Heater
The above images represent sound testing for confirmation of 49 dba at 1 metre. This testing confirms Modulex as the quietest Gas water heater on the market! Add to this its compact footprint, high modulation and variable water flow and you have a condensing boiler that is a force to be reckoned with.

IHG, who operate InterContinental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn Hotel brands, have been using the expertise of Automatic Heating since 2009.
Crowne Plaza Melbourne installed 3 x 700 kW and 1 x 100 kW Modulex Condensing boilers to replace our older Raypak atmospheric boilers. In 2015 we installed a further 4 condensing boilers for domestic and room heat.
We are extremely pleased with the performance of these boilers. We now enjoy (approx) a 25% gas reduction and have an extremely reliable heat source for our room heat, domestic hot water and swimming pool. We have also installed the same type of boiler at Crowne Plaza Coogee Beach and have intentions to replace boilers at our other properties.
Terry and his team are more than capable of assistance with design, installation planning, ROI calculations and have a solid list of installers if required. The after sales service is also very good. I would have no hesitation in recommending Automatic Heating to work through this process.
Robin Area Director - Engineering - Victoria & SB & G PortfolioSome feedback on the recent UTAS project.
The integration of the Modulex Condensing Boilers to each building at the UTAS campus to replace the centralised high temperature water loop has been a success with positive feedback from the Client.
The boilers have been more than reliable and the integration to the existing Honeywell control system has been faultless.
The design of the Modulex type boilers providing separate and individual control modules with each burner provides good flexibility and omits the requirements for standby boilers which has saved the Client $ on capital funding when a high level of redundancy is required.
Commissioning, servicing, and warranty on the boilers has been impressive.
We have no hesitation in specifying these type of boilers now and for future projects.

Nathan Principal Technical Officer - Mechanical at JMG Engineers & PlannersFive Years ago, at Wrest Point Hotel Casino we replaced our Electric Boiler Water heating with high efficient Modulex boilers.
That section of the complex comprises of 210 accommodation rooms, Foyer Reception and Egress areas, 2 large Restaurants, Table Gaming, Pool and Gym, VIP lounge, Cabaret and exhibition rooms along with back of house areas and Canteen.
All these areas / spaces are heated with the Modulex Boilers and the domestic hot water to those listed above, are also supplied via heat exchanger.
Our location exposes us to inclement weather and long cold days; combine this with the existing design and age of some of our mechanical services, alongside the peak loading with the combination of space heating and Hotel Hot Water, Wrest Point has a large heating load for over 6 months of the year with a lot of moments (spikes) of high demand on top of that. During summer we only rely on the Boilers for Domestic Hot Water.
The Modulex Boilers installed as a retro fit to an existing system, they are efficient and practical as they step up and down in stages, and those individual stages also step as percentage burn. They are quick to respond and have been problem free.
Here at Wrest Point we test the heating water monthly, (it could be ¼ly), and service the boilers annually every summer, with the odd filter and mesh replacement.
I recommend them; as they were also recommended to me via another property
